Thank you...let's improve our lives together!

Everyone of us will pass down basic manners to our children, right? Simply basic ones. We were always taught since young to say 'Thank you' to anyone who does something for us, or gave us something, or to anyone whom we would like to express our deepest gratitude. Terima kasih...sentiasa meniti di bibir masing-masing. Thank you. Terima kasih, is a usual ending to our daily hundreds of communication via e-mail or whatsapp or text or phone call etc.

I know of a friend who would always end her emails with ..... "Thanking you in advance for your cooperation!" ...the first time I received her mail (many years ago), it caught me off guard. Belum deliver apa-apa pun lagi yang dikehendaki, tapi ucapan terima kasih mendahului dari kawan ku itu. Wahhhh ... hati ini terpanggil untuk melakukan yang terbaik untuk kawan ku. Until today, I have a soft spot for this friend of mine, and I would prioritise her requirement above others. Yup! I'm choosy...But its her good manners that set her apart from others.

Specially for my children, I want you to appreciate this concept of saying thank you to HIM. I'm not perfect either...lets improve our lives together. Consider your 5 times daily solat as a means to say Thank You to HIM.

  1. Subuh...Thank you for giving another day to breathe, a renewed hope, a chance to do better than yesterday, another Dhuha.
  2. Zuhur...Thank you for another opportunity to do good deed, to be more productive, to learn new things, for lunch!
  3. Asar...Thank you for another sunset, welcoming another superb evening, another opportunity to test kesabaran dalam 'traffic jam', a chance to zikir throughout the journey back home, listening to the radio...
  4. Maghrib...Thank you for another iftar, a scrumptious dinner at home with le familia, homework sessions, learning and unlearn and relearn sessions, another moon and stars to be awed, welcoming the night for resting and tahajud...
  5. Isyak...Thank you for a blessed day, another chance to recharge your faith and iman and another tahajud, another solat hajat, another ishtikarah, another witir, another taubat...all for your own soul...

Surah Ibrahim, ayat 40:

Despite all that we have done during the day...HE would continue to have us witness another sunrise (according to HIS plan)...wouldn't that requires a continuous THANK YOU from us...hence our 5 times solat daily. Lets promise for a better quality solat...timely and with more focus. Jom! InshaAllah...

Thank you in truckloads...
